Worship is the primary goal of the music ministry of Vineville Baptist Church. The music ministry offers opportunities for all ages to use their gifts in worship. Our worship is traditional, and incorporates a variety of choral, instrumental and congregational song.
The primary worship leadership groups are the 50 voice Sanctuary Choir and the Vineville Instrumental Ensemble. Accompanying them are two excellent accompanists at the piano and organ.
The Sanctuary Choir consists of volunteers who offer their voices in praise. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm and welcome any who would choose to join their voices in song. The choir sings a broad variety of music including classics, contemporary anthems, hymn arrangements, spirituals and seasonal music.

The Vineville Instrumental Ensemble is an auditioned group open to high-school aged players and above. Primarily a brass ensemble, the group changes and expands to include other wind and string players when they are available. This ensemble supports the congregational song, accompanies the sanctuary choir and provides additional instrumental music in our services.
-
Handbells are also part of the musical/worship life of VBC. Currently, 14 ringers ring 5 octaves of bells and 3 octaves of handchimes. This ensemble periodically rings in worship and enjoys traveling to bell festivals and other ringing opportunities.
Vineville is excited to offer a fully graded program of choirs.

Our youth choir (7th-12th grades) meets on Sunday afternoons during the school year. In addition to special singing opportunities, they occasionally sing in worship. This very active group sings for and participates in numerous mission efforts. An annual trip to a youth choir festival has also become a favorite tradition.
-
Our Young Musicians choir (4th-6th grades) continues the work of our Music Makers (1st-3rd grades) choir. Children in these choirs receive musical training in pitch, rhythm, hymnology, and group singing, while also being given age-appropriate, basic spiritual insights and worship leadership training.
-
Our Wee Musicians (4 and 5 year olds) are encouraged to “find” their voice and to learn basic concepts of matching pitch and keeping a steady beat. Basic, age-appropriate spiritual concepts are also shared in this setting.
Activities in our children’s choirs include singing, playing instruments, developing listening skill and moving to music. Technology is also a part of our children’s choirs curriculum as it is used to reinforce learning that takes place in small group settings. Our children’s choirs meet on Wednesday afternoons during the school year.
Additional ensembles and small groups form from time to time, as needed.
