First and foremost, this league was formed for the purpose of bringing churches together for Christian fun and fellowship. It should be understood that the league be made up of church members and prospects. There will be a prayer with both teams before the start of each game to praise God for providing us with the opportunity to enjoy the game of basketball.
It is imperative that you be respectful of all game officials, scorekeepers, and league officials at all times. Please remember that you are representing your church.
Each team must have jerseys for their players of like color and style with each having a unique number. We ask that you try to have reversible jerseys if possible.
The first league game is set to tip-off at 6:00PM each week. There will be a 5 minute warm-up period between the end of one game and the beginning of the next game. Teams must have a minimum of 5 players from their official roster to begin a game. A 5 minute grace period will be given when a team fails to have the 5 players necessary to start the game before they will be forced to forfeit the game. There will be no exceptions.
League Games will be officiated based on GHSA rules and regulations with the following amendments:
- Each game will consist of two 20-minute running clock halves. The clock will stop on all dead-ball situations within the last minute of the first half and the last three minutes of the second half. The only exception will be that the clock will continue to run when one team has a lead of 20 points or greater.
- Three minute overtime periods will be played if the score is tied at the end of regulation. The clock will stop on all dead-ball situations in the last minute of each overtime period.
- Profane language will not be tolerated. A technical foul will be assessed for using profane language during a game.
- There is a projector suspended from the ceiling near center court. Hitting the cage enclosing the projector will result in a technical foul on the individual hitting the cage and loss of possession. Therefore, DO NOT THROW PASSES THAT MAY HIT THE PROJECTOR.
- Dunking will not be allowed. A technical foul will be assessed for dunking before or during a game.
- Two technical fouls assessed to a player within the same game will result in the ejection of that player from that game and the suspension of that player from the team’s next scheduled game.
- Teams will be allotted two timeouts per half. Teams will have one timeout per overtime period. No timeouts will be carried over.
All league participants must be at least 18 years of age and cannot be currently playing on a high school or college basketball team.
All players must sign a waiver prior to entering the game for the first time. Failure to do this will result in a technical foul being assessed to the player’s team.
Rosters must be locked in by the start of the third week of the season. After that point, additions will have to be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis based on circumstance by league officials.
There will be a post-season tournament following the conclusion of the regular season. Playoff Seeding Tie-Breakers will be determined by league officials.
Post-Season Tournament Player Qualification - A player must have appeared in a minimum of three (3) regular season games to be eligible to play in the post-season tournament.
