Dear Recreation Director / Coach:

Good Afternoon Everyone!  We are excited to announce that registration is now underway for the 2012 Men’s Church Basketball League hosted by Vineville Baptist Church.   We had another great season in 2011 and are looking forward to an exciting year of competition and fellowship in 2012.

The following is a breakdown of league information:

Location & Schedule: All league games will be played at Vineville Baptist Church.  The league will consist of either eight or nine teams, playing a round-robin schedule (with each team receiving a bye week if we have 9 teams), followed by a post-season tournament.  Games will be played at 6:00PM, 7:00PM, 8:00PM, and 9:00PM.  The regular season will run 9 weeks beginning on January 5th, and most regular-season league games will be played on Thursday nights.

League Fees:  Entry fees for the participating teams will be $400.00/team.

Registration:  Early registration for last season’s participating churches will run through Wednesday, December 7th.   Since we are limited to a maximum of nine league teams, we have decided that the most equitable way to determine the league teams will be based on when the league fees are paid in full.  If there are still openings after the early registration period, the first nine paid teams will make up the league participants.  Checks should be made payable to Vineville Baptist Church.  Please either mail or bring payment by church office.  For church address, please visit our church website at www.vbcmacon.org.

League Rules:  A copy of the league rules has been attached to this email.  It is important for the coach to be aware of the rules and relay them to all players.  The referees will discuss any new rules prior to each game during Week 1.

Eligibility: All league participants must be at least 18 years of age and cannot be currently playing on a high school or college basketball team.

Liability Waiver:  All league participants will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to playing in their first game.  Waiver forms will be included with league rules.  Rosters will be locked for the season after the second game to ensure people are not playing without signing the waiver.

Scheduling Requests:  Please let us know if there are any special scheduling requests when you submit your league fees. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but there is no guarantee.  Since all the teams tend to struggle with the 6:00PM games, we try our best to be equitable and only schedule each team with two during the regular season.
